This afternoon tour is one of the best ways to enjoy Antigua and its surrounding mountains. We’ll take you to several scenic viewpoints high above the valley, where you can admire impressive views of the colonial city, the valley and the volcanoes that frame the region. Our first stop is Cerro de la Cruz, Antigua’s iconic lookout with its famous cross and sweeping aerial view of the city. After photos and time to enjoy the landscape, we continue by vehicle up into the El Hato mountain area, heading to our next stop: Hobbitenango, a themed eco-park inspired by The Lord of the Rings. Here you can enjoy the afternoon light, take pictures, try food and drinks, and play games or simply relax in the cool mountain air. From there we follow a forest path to visit the famous “La Mano” viewpoint, where you can step onto a giant hand-shaped platform, enjoy incredible views and explore an enchanting wooded setting. When we finish, we descend the mountain to El Tambor, a Guatemalan restaurant built on the hillside. If you’re hungry, you can order typical local dishes or just enjoy a drink while watching the sunset over the valley. At the end of this experience, we return to Antigua.
