This Antigua Mountain Tour combines the city’s most famous viewpoints with a visit to a traditional village on the slopes above the valley. Our first stop is Cerro de la Cruz, one of Antigua’s best-known landmarks. From the cross you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the colonial city, its churches and cobblestone streets framed by Agua Volcano—perfect for photos and an introduction to Antigua’s history. Afterward we continue by vehicle up into the mountains to Hobbitenango, a themed eco-park inspired by The Lord of the Rings. Here you can walk through its fantasy-style houses and viewpoints, enjoy the cool mountain climate and take part in different activities, games and photo spots while admiring sweeping views of the valley and surrounding volcanoes. The tour then heads to the nearby village of San Juan del Obispo, known for its church, central plaza and small artisan shops. We visit a renowned local chocolate workshop, where you learn about the process and taste different chocolates, liqueurs and jams made in the area. You’ll also have time to stroll the streets, meet local vendors and experience daily life in this peaceful town before returning to Antigua.
